Web Page

Today we created a portable server on our thumb drives in order to learn more about the numerous sections and workings of a internet webpage. I learnt a lot about how the browser is linked to the server and things about MySQL, PhP, www etc.

Deadline

Today our group compiled all our videos together and made one big music video which lasts around 3 min 20sec. Note that my part of the video is from the start to around 1min 10sec. In this project i have learnt how to use many effects and tools i could use in Sony Vegas and many quick keys to enhance my video. I also learnt how to properly make a game in Scratch and a Flash clip in Adobe Flash. I also made a short power point on copy right and intellectual property which was part of the requirements for the project.

Update

In the last few lessons, we found out that our video didn't last as long as we planned, so we had to go back and video more parts. Also i have been finding out things i could include in my video, like effects and tools in Sony Vegas that can enhance our video. This lesson, i will actually start editing my video in Sony Vegas.

Job Within the Video

I have been assigned with the middle part of the Video - around 1:00 to 2:10.

this taught me some simple effects and things i could use to enhance and brighten up my video. E.g titles, cutting and trimming video clips and linking them together.

Fliming

On Sunday, my teammates and me met up together outside of school to do our filming at the mall, library, someone's house, car park etc. following our plan and storyboard. Now that we have finished most of our our filming , we will continue onto doing the actual editing and creating the music video by putting everything together in a legible sense.

Storyline

Today, me and my group decided on a story line in the story, where two of us will be captured after a long run by another one of use, afterwards the two captives will break free and kill the person who captured them and kill him. But he revives and the video ends. We decided to change the scene when the song goes ''BANG" to cultivate in with the music. This is just a early story line and we will add details in next time.

Video

Today, our group decided to use the song Bangarang by Skrillex, we thought of some ideas that could fit in with song. Because the song is about explosives and guns, we thought of some innovative ideas that could go with that in our Music Video.

Idea

I think that i should produce a music video for my final project, incorporated with some flash files to make things interesting. Over the holidays i will think about the music i want to use and the story line of the music video.

Last few weeks

Over the last few weeks, i have explored many different ways to produce my final 'give away', prior to that, we had to discover the programs: Sony Vegas, Scratch by MIT, Adobe Flash to give us ideas to think about; whether to produce a Music Video, Computer Game, or a flash file to give away in our "CD".

Video

Today, me and my group started videoing the actual video, our music was going to be 'good feeling' by Flo Rida, We started our video with someone looking out the window and having a 'good feeling', then the ''main character will go and play basketball.

New Project

Today we started a new project, where we have to create multimedia projects i.e computer games , music videos. Today my groups started our music video.

Finished

Today i finally finished my booking system, it isn't perfect, but it works well and effectively. I have included 5 pages: Home, Bookings, Finance, Records, and Help page. Overall, i think i have fulfilled the criteria and should achieve a reasonable mark. I have only included a booking system for one week, but if this were to be a proper system, all the other weeks would be the same. Here are some print screened pictures of my booking system:

In this project i have encountered many problems and solved them, i also learnt a lot related to excel and macros via my teacher, tutorials and videos. Although i could've done better on this, i think my project is pretty good and it works reasonably effectively. :D

14th Feb

Today i finished off my booking system and started on my financing page, which records my money earned an weekly revenue. I still need to make a page to record customer information.

Problem Solved

I have solved the error in those macros, as it turns out, there was spaces in the cells. Therefore, the computer couldn't add 1 which caused the error. I simply backspaced in the cells and then it suddenly worked. Sometimes, problems can be solved with the simplest solutions i.e simply backspacing :)

Problems

Today, as i was continuing building my macro system, i received this error on 3 of my macros, i have no idea why this happen and neither does my teacher. Thus, i am going to move on and continue, eventually i will come back and fix this issue.

2nd Feb

Today i spent most of my time making the booking system work, i made many macros to allow the buttons to book the right space.

Actual Booking Page

Today and last lesson i started working on the actual booking page, the picture shown above is my booking homepage, i made a few macros to allow simpler navigation through the page. Next lesson, i will start working on the bookings page and develop and construct a fluent booking system.

Planning

Last Lesson and Today, i have been planning the format and layout of my booking page, i have decided that i would use a simple box to record the number of bookings and corresponding images as buttons to make it less likely to make mistakes.

Tutorials

Today i looked at different visual basic tutorial from youtube and the internet. I tried some out myself. I learnt how to do a basic macro and how to create a message box in excel.

Rock School

I have completed my Concert bookings and we're moving on to creating a rock school. I have learnt a lot on Macros, Cell References, Conditional Formatting, Pick Lists and many functions in Excel. The Rock School is going to be more difficult to format and design.
